CLOSED PARTY PRIMARY ELECTIONS and VOTER REGISTRATION DEADLINES FOR SATURDAY, JUNE 27, 2026 2nd Party Primary/Municipal General Election
Ascension Parish Registrar of Voters, Shanie M. Bourg, would like to remind the citizens of Ascension parish that the June 27th election will be the 2nd Party Primary and the only candidate race that will be on the ballot in Ascension Parish will be the U.S. Senate race and it will be closed. You will NOT SEE the U.S. Representative races on this ballot. Those races will run in the fall on the November 3rd Ballot and they will be open to all voters.
Also, remember, if you are registered as No Party (Unaffiliated), and you chose to vote the Democratic or Republican ballot for the first party primary election, you will be provided with the same type of ballot for the second party primary. You will not have to complete another Declaration of Ballot Choice. However, if you chose to vote the No Party/Unaffiliated ballot for the May election, you will be given the Declaration of Ballot Choice form for the upcoming June Election.
NOTE: As a No Party (Unaffiliated) voter choosing to participate in a party primary election, it is important to note that this will not change your party affiliation on your official voter registration. You will still be registered as No Party (Unaffiliated).
Also, it is important to know that if you are registered as any “Other” party, such as Libertarian Party, Green Party, Reform Party, etc. You will not have anything to vote on unless you are eligible to vote on the Road Lighting District 7 prop running in precinct 45 and part of precinct 47 on the West Side of the parish.
She would also like to remind you that the deadline to register to vote or make changes to your voter registration for the June 27th, 2nd Party Primary/Municipal General Election IN PERSON has past.
