On September 17, 2025, an Ascension Parish Jury found 47-year-old Hasan Henderson of 304 Mulberry St. Donaldsonville, LA guilty of Distribution of Heroin and Distribution of Fentanyl. Henderson was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Charles “Chuck” Long and Robin O’Bannon.
Presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge John Smith.
In December 2024, narcotics agents with the Gonzales Police Department in conjunction with DEA and Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office identified Hasan Henderson as a suspected heroin/fentanyl dealer. Agents were able to successfully purchase a quantity of narcotics from Henderson. Upon scientific analysis of the narcotics purchased, agents were able to confirm that the narcotics purchased was in fact a mixture of heroin and fentanyl.
A warrant of arrest was obtained for Henderson who was subsequently arrested and booked into the Ascension Parish Jail.
Upon the jury returning a guilty verdict, sentencing was deferred to a later date. Based on Henderson’s extensive criminal history and numerous prior felony convictions, the District Attorney’s Office did file a habitual offender bill in this matter.
On May 6, 2026, Hasan Henderson was sentenced to 35 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
