On May 26, 2026, Gonzales Police Department officers responded to a shooting in the 1500 block of South Burnside Avenue where one individual sustained a gunshot wound.
Through investigative efforts, detectives identified both a suspect vehicle and a suspect believed to be involved in the incident. That investigation led to the issuance of an arrest warrant for Keelan Irvin Jr., 19.
On June 1, 2026, Gonzales Police Department Detectives, with assistance from the Louisiana State Police Fugitive Apprehension Team and the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit, safely took Irvin into custody without incident.

According to Ascension Parish Jail booking records, the accused was processed on June 1. No bond has been set at the time of this writing.
The accused was arrested in May of 2024 and charged with assorted crimes including Attempted 2nd Degree Murder for which a combination bond was set at $280,000. The accused was booked on May 14, 2024 and released after bond was posted on May 17, 2024.
