Phone Scam Reminder – PLEASE SHARE!!!
The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office would like to alert the public of an ongoing telephone scam where individuals are impersonating deputies with the sheriff’s office. One of the most recent scam calls involves someone impersonating Sgt./Col. Paul Robert and requesting cash or electronic payments to avoid arrest.
Please do not fall for this! Our agency will NEVER contact you and request any form of payment (ex: GreenDot, CashApp, Venmo, PayPal) over the phone for arrest warrants, subpoenas, or tickets.
If you receive a phone call that sounds suspicious, HANG UP!!! You can always call our main number at (225) 621-8300 if you need to contact any of our offices.
Again, the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office will never request payment over the phone. We encourage our residents to remain cautious whenever payment is requested during a call you did not initiate
