“Big abortion pharma claims they need an emergency stay because they will lose massive amounts of money if they can’t kill more babies quickly and efficiently by mail without medical oversight. The administrative stay is temporary, and I am confident life and the law will win in the end.” – Attorney General Liz Murrill
The Supreme Court blocked a 5th Circuit ruling which prohibited women from seeking abortion to obtain mifepristone through the mail. Louisiana argued that it was injured by the practice which did not require an in-person doctor visit.
Justice Samuel Alito signed the order restoring the ability of women to obtain the pill at pharmacies or via mail, without an in-person visit to a doctor.
Food and Drug Administration had approved the practice several years ago until the three-judge panel in the 5th Circuit restrained the practice.
