ASCENSION PARISH – This week is EMS WEEK — HONORING OUR VOLUNTEERS & VOLUNTEER EMRs in Ascension Parish.
Today, we shine a special light on the volunteers who make emergency response possible across our beautiful Parish of Ascension.
Our volunteer firefighters, volunteer EMRs, and volunteer first responders are the backbone of so many communities in this parish — stepping up not because they have to, but because they care. Day after Day responding to the residents of our beautiful Parish.
These are the people who:
• Leave their homes at a moment’s notice
• Miss dinners, birthdays, and sleep
• Show up in the middle of storms, heat, and long nights
• Respond to medical calls with steady hands and big hearts
• Train on their own time to stay ready for anything
• Serve their neighbors with compassion, courage, and humility
Volunteer EMRs play a unique and powerful role.
They are often the first on scene, the first to assess, the first to comfort, and the first to bring calm to a frightened family. Their early actions save lives, buy time, and make all the difference before EMS arrives.
They do all of this without expecting recognition, praise, or reward. They do it because they care about our residents, our children and our Senior Citizens, here in Ascension Parish.
They do it because they love their community.
They do it because someone needs help.
They do it because service is in their blood.
Across our beautiful Parish of Ascension, our volunteers are the heartbeat of emergency response.
They are neighbors helping neighbors.
They are everyday people doing extraordinary things.
They are the reason so many families get the help they need when seconds matter.
Today, during EMS Week, we say thank you — Our Parish is better today, because of you.
To every volunteer firefighter, volunteer EMR, and volunteer first responder in Ascension Parish, we cannot thank you enough for what you do for our Parish.
Your dedication is seen.
Your sacrifices are appreciated.
Your service makes this parish stronger, safer, and better prepared.
We are grateful for you — today and every day.
