Donaldsonville HS student arrested for Terrorizing

On Monday, May 18, deputies responded to a report of improper communication regarding a list that surfaced online threatening harm toward several students at Donaldsonville High School. The suspect was identified as 17-year old Kyle Sanchez, who was also enrolled at the school.

During the investigation, Sanchez admitted to creating the list in the past but stated he had no plans to carry out the threats. Sanchez was arrested and booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on one count of Terrorizing.

APSO is continuing to work closely with school officials to ensure the safety of students and staff.

NOTE: According to Parish Jail booking records, the accused remains in jail with bond set at $75,000

Message to Parents:

Dear Donaldsonville High Parents,

Late Monday night, we were made aware of a social media post in which a student made a threat. We immediately contacted the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, and an investigation was conducted in coordination with our school and district leadership.

As a result of this investigation, the student is facing appropriate disciplinary and legal consequences. The student has not been on campus since the situation was reported.

The safety and security of our students and staff remain our highest priority. We take all threats seriously and will act quickly and decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for everyone.

We appreciate the partnership of our families and community in reporting concerns and helping us maintain safe schools. If you ever see or hear something concerning, please report it immediately to school administration or local law enforcement.
