Ascension Parish Government is providing an update regarding the ongoing roundabout construction project at the intersection of PR 929 and PR 930.
After careful evaluation of the project status and construction progress, Ascension Parish Government has elected to terminate its contract with the current contractor and move forward in a different direction to
complete the project.
The parish is currently working with the Department of Transportation, Legal Department, and project teams to assess the remaining work needed to safely reopen the intersection to traffic as quickly as possible while also developing a plan to finalize construction.
“Our priority is making sure this intersection is safe, functional, and completed in a way that best serves our residents,” said Ascension Parish President Clint Cointment. “We understand residents have experienced inconvenience during construction, and we are committed to moving this project forward responsibly and transparently.”
Ascension Parish officials will evaluate the site this week to determine immediate operational needs and establish next steps for reopening the roadway and completing outstanding improvements.
