Louisiana Community and Technical Colleges (LCTC), the Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE), and the Louisiana Construction Education Foundation (LCEF) have announced the 2026 Jump Start Construction Connect Scholarship, providing $1,000 awards to eligible Louisiana high school seniors pursuing careers in construction and related fields.
The scholarship supports students earning both a Jump Start credential and a Louisiana high school diploma, helping them access training aligned with high-demand, high-wage careers in construction crafts and STEM-related fields.
Applications close May 1, 2026. Recipients will be selected May 1–14 and notified on May 15.
To qualify, applicants must be Louisiana high school seniors earning a Jump Start Career Diploma, obtain a National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) credential, submit three letters of recommendation, and enroll full-time in a Louisiana Community and Technical Colleges construction pathway program or an Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) training program following graduation.
“This scholarship is about creating a clear next step for students who are ready to go to work and build careers in Louisiana,” said Chandler LeBoeuf, Vice President of Education for Louisiana Community and Technical Colleges. “Through Jump Start and our construction programs, students are gaining the skills, credentials, and experience that connect directly to opportunity—and to the workforce our state depends on.”
The Jump Start Construction Connect Scholarship is part of a broader effort to strengthen Louisiana’s workforce pipeline by aligning education and training with industry needs and expanding access to high-quality career pathways.
