MMR Group hosted incoming parish council members yesterday, facilitating an insightful discussion on the vital role of industry in the Ascension Parish economy.
LSU’s Dr. Gregory Upton and Councilman Chase Melancon did an outstanding job shedding light on the impact of industrial projects in our community. Did you know that there are over $21 billion worth of industrial projects announced in Ascension Parish?
Not only will these projects bring 1,196 new permanent jobs with an annual payroll of over $106 million, but they will also create 12,994 construction jobs with a total payroll of $2.8 billion!
And that’s not all! Once these projects are fully operational, they will contribute $74 million a year in local property taxes to support our local government.
