The Grove Recovery Center’s mission is being fully realized in June with the opening of The Grove at Ascension on the former grounds of the RPCC campus in Sorrento, LA in the heart of Ascension Parish. The Grove’s Ascension Campus, located right off I-10 at 7384 John Leblanc Blvd, will feature Medically Managed Detox, Dual-Diagnosis, and Residential treatment.
“The Grove opened approximately six years ago and started off as a small private practice which immediately took off to create something larger than I had initially envisioned,” Co-Owner and Clinical Director Denise Thibodeaux said. “Our tremendous growth shows that there is such a need for services like these as we are faced with an epidemic like never seen before. “We are just truly blessed to be able to be an integral part of someone’s path to change their lives. For that we are grateful.”
Moreover, The Grove believes wholeheartedly that drug and alcohol addiction is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit. The Grove also believes in reducing the stigma of addiction and helping people to understand it as a progressive, fatal illness that can be treated with the proper care.
The Grove commits to treating each client holistically and will cover a variety of individualized treatments, including treatment for Dual-Diagnoses as well as a Family Program. The Grove will feature a Family Therapist that will work with each client and their families to develop a plan for the family to offer support to the struggling addict in their recovery and address any unhealthy patterns that have developed because of substance use.
Additionally, the Dual-Diagnosis program will address any Co-Occurring Disorders that clients may have. The Grove’s medical team will manage each client’s medication as well as providing follow-up care as each client transitions to a long-term program.
“We are blessed to be able to bring high quality, compassionate care to our community, state and country,” Co-Owner/Administrator Cody Gautreaux said. “We believe long-term recovery is available to everyone and we look forward to helping those in need.”
Prior to the opening of the new facility, The Grove Recovery Center’s “Baton Rouge Campus,” located at 5311 Dijon Drive, only provided an Intensive Outpatient Program as well as Sober Living for those seeking recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. The IOP and Sober Living programs provide an abstinence-based sober living environment and will still be fully functional, now as part of The Grove’s 3-phase approach to long-term recovery. Phase III will be Outpatient services and Aftercare, lasting at least six months and often up to a year.
The Grove Recovery Center’s mission states, “To help struggling alcoholics and addicts attain long-term recovery through individualized recovery plans, based on clinical evidence, delivered in an accepting, family atmosphere.”
The Grove believes that “Everyone is deserving of recovery.” By using the Recovery Dynamics curriculum, The Grove can help carry the message to clients from all walks of life. The Grove will also provide a curriculum of alternative therapies such as art therapy, mindfulness, yoga, and recreational therapy.
Services at The Grove, a Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) accredited recovery center, can be acquired with all major insurance companies and Louisiana Medicaid. Onsite assistance for Medicaid applications and “scholarship opportunities” for some who are unable to purchase insurance or receive Medicaid is available.
