The City of Gonzales received a $10,000 check from the Baton Rouge State Fair Foundation’s Worthy Cause Grant, on behalf of Leadership Ascension’s Team of Dreams. Greg Edwards, Chairman of the Baton Rouge State Fair Foundation said the Board believes the “extraordinary work done by Leadership Ascension to build the field and all that it represents is exactly the kind of initiative that we want to support and foster, and when we learned that the project needed $10,000 to finish the current phase of the ball park, we jumped in without hesitation and are humbled to be a part of it!”
City Officials, members of the Team of Dreams and League Volunteers, along with Greater Baton Rouge Fair, and Baton Rouge State Fair Foundation board representatives were in attendance for the presentation of the grant. Mayor Arceneaux thanked the Fair and Foundation for selecting to “support this incredible opportunity for the children of not just Gonzales, Ascension and surrounding areas.”
