Our Lady of the Lake Ascension received an “A” grade in the spring 2021 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, a national distinction recognizing Our Lady of the Lake Ascension’s achievements protecting patients from errors, injuries, accidents, and infections. The hospital has scored straight “A’s” since 2016. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D,” or “F” grade to all general hospitals across the country and is updated every six months. It is the only hospital ratings program based exclusively on hospitals’ prevention of medical errors and other harms to patients in their care.
“Our Lady of the Lake Ascension has been deeply committed to providing quality and safe healthcare to the community members of Ascension Parish for nearly four decades,” said Yvonne Pellerin DNP, RN, NE-BC, FACHE, Vice President of Patient Care. It is especially meaningful, therefore, to receive such a recognition. It is only through the hard work and dedication of our team members that we are recognized for this achievement. I am extremely honored to work with, and very proud of, our incredible team of professionals.”
“An ‘A’ safety grade is an elite designation that your community should be proud of,” said Leah Binder, president, and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “The past year has been extraordinarily difficult for hospitals, but Our Lady of the Lake Ascension shows us it is possible to keep a laser focus on patients and their safety, no matter what it takes.”
