Make a difference: Become a Volunteer with CASA

As summer begins,  many children will enjoy  positive and lasting memories with their families. Unfortunately, there are many children in our community who may not have the same safe and nurturing experience.  Those children may find themselves in situations where they need trusting adults to make a difference in their lives and be their voice. Nearly half the children in foster care in Ascension Parish do not have someone to be their advocate.

Child Advocacy Services Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Program trains everyday community members to advocate for a child in foster care. If you have been thinking about how you can make a difference in a child’s life, visit Child Advocacy Services’ website at under the “Become a Volunteer” tab for more information. By becoming a CASA, you can change a child’s story and improve the community by helping those in need. Training starts July 26th  for Ascension Parish. Call 225-647-2005 or email to become a child advocate.
