Animal Tales — 10:30 am in Veteran’s Memorial Park

Be prepared for some animal edZOOcation! Get up close and personal with six exotic mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians from all over the world. Learn all about these animals’ tails and how they use them. Animal Tales doesn’t just lecture but involves the crowd, giving audience members a chance to work with the animals. Masks are recommended. Space may be limited.

Corkboard String Art Make & Take — 6:00 pm in Gonzales

Tweens! Use string, corkboard, and sewing pins to create art for your wall or your desk! You can choose from a heart or jewel design—or use your creativity to make your own. Join us in person at the library for this retro-chic make and take. Designed for tweens ages 9 – 11. Masks are recommended. Space may be limited.

Ascension Parish Library storytimes are interactive, engaging, and promote early literary skills. We will make learning fun as we share our favorite stories, songs, and rhymes in a fast-paced and energetic atmosphere. Storytime is a great opportunity for getting wiggles out and socializing.

Our Galvez and Dutchtown locations will hold two sessions each to accommodate anticipated audiences. Both sessions will feature the same stories and songs, so please choose the time that is more convenient for you. Designed for kids ages 5 and younger. Masks are recommended. Space may be limited.

BRBT’s Youth Ballet presents Alice in Wonderland — 10:00 am and 11:00 am in Galvez

Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre’s Youth Ballet presents Alice in Wonderland. Join Alice as she ventures to the fantasy world of Wonderland where she encounters beloved characters from the imagination of Lewis Carroll—the White Rabbit, the Mad Hatter, March Hare, and the infamous queen of fury herself, the Queen of Hearts. Together with her outlandish friends, Alice defeats the Queen only to wake up realizing her adventure was only just a dream.

The Youth Ballet will perform two shows at our Galvez location on June 10 at 10:00am and 11:00am.
