Heritage Crossing is excited to welcome Alexander’s Heritage Market to Gonzales. Lathan, Ryan and Reid Alexander, along with Miles Holley, Sr, will own and operate the new location.
Heritage Crossing is Gonzales’ newest mixed-use development encompassing a range of restaurants, shopping, banking and office options, modern residential, and 22 acres of recreational water features with over a mile of walking trails for the community to enjoy. The new City of Gonzales Price Leblanc Performing Arts, Conference and Events (PACE) Center will sit at the heart of the development, hosting many events and serving as a gathering space and lifestyle hub for the community.
“With Alexander’s Heritage Market, we decided to combine the Alexander name, which is known for creating memorable grocery experiences, with the name of the development, Heritage Crossing, which we believe will become the go-to destination in Ascension Parish and the surrounding area for shopping, dining, leisure and social gatherings.” -Lathan Alexander
Collectively, the ownership team has over 125 years of experience serving and satisfying customers. This is the 100-year anniversary of the Alexander family in the grocery business, a span that has seen five generations of Alexanders serve the Baton Rouge and Gonzales region.
Gonzales city officials were elated to hear of the deal.
“I am eager to see the launch of an Alexander family grocer on one of the most prominent corners in the City of Gonzales. Alexander’s steep history in the region and strong reputation as a service-oriented grocer offers great benefits to both the economy and the community.” – Gonzales Mayor Barney Arceneaux
The development has progressed quickly since breaking ground in April. In addition to the city’s PACE Center and Alexander’s Heritage Market, the developers have started construction on the first two retail buildings and will be making additional announcements in the coming weeks.
