Guilty Pleas for the Week of June 15-19

During the week of June 15 – June 19, 2020, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court-Ascension Parish:

  • Antonio Coco, 15005 Beau Jon Ave. Prairieville, LA., age 39, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Attempted Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  • Dylan Forrest, 14192 Bear Island Rd. Maurepas, LA., age 24, pled guilty to Theft Valued Over $1,000, Simple Criminal Damage to Property over $1,000, and Theft of a Motor Vehicle. The defendant was sentenced to 4 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  • Ronya Jones, 3025 Mt. Olive Church Rd. Donaldsonville, LA., age 24, pled guilty to 2nd Degree Battery and Illegal Use of Weapons or Dangerous Instrumentalities. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Craig Stewart and Maeghen Kling. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Emile St. Pierre.

  • Darien Bennett, 38328 Cedar St. Gonzales, LA., age 25, pled guilty to Simple Battery, Simple Burglary (2 counts), Theft Valued at $1,000 or More, but Less than $5,000, and Simple Criminal Damage to Property. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

The above case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Steven Tureau, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Alvin Turner Jr.
