Dear Ascension Public Schools Families,
Classes may have officially ended, but we still need your help to close out the 2019-20 school year. You should have received directions from your school about how to turn in items such as library books and computing devices. There is additional important information we need to share with you.
ONLINE LEARNING FEEDBACK SURVEY
We want to hear from our students about their experiences with distance learning during the COVID-19 closures. Please help your child visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/APSBstudents2020 to complete a brief confidential survey. This is important for us to learn how to best deliver distance learning in the future
GRAB & GO STUDENT MEALS
We are very appreciative of the Three O’Clock Project for providing “Grab & Go” student meals during the COVID-19 closure. This service will continue through the month of June so that students can receive regular, healthy meals.
Louisiana has been approved for the new Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) program. This program will provide extra help buying groceries for the families who normally receive free and reduced-price meals at school. This includes all families attending a Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) school. To receive these benefits, families must complete an application. The portal launched today, and applications are due June 8.
As a reminder, anyone who qualifies for free and reduced meals at school qualifies for the P-EBT Program. Additionally, anyone who has students that attend a CEP school qualifies. Our CEP schools are Ascension Head Start, G.W. Carver Primary, Central Primary, Donaldsonville Primary, Donaldsonville High, Duplessis Primary, East Ascension High, Gonzales Middle, Gonzales Primary, Lake Elementary Lakeside Primary, Lowery Elementary, Lowery Middle, Pecan Grove Primary, St. Amant Middle, St. Amant Primary, and Sorrento Primary. You MUST complete an application to receive these benefits.
Thank you in advance for your assistance with these matters.
