St. Amant High senior Isabella Taylor is working as a page in the Louisiana House of Representatives during the 2020 session. She received the recommendation of Representative Kathy Edmonston of House District 88. Isabella is in the dual enrollment program at St. Amant High and plans to attend LSU this fall with a major in political science and future law studies.
Each year there is an opportunity for those who want to get a first-hand experience with state government to work as a page at the State Capitol. Students must be at least sixteen years of age and be recommended by a state representative or state senator. Pages are paid the minimum wage and must fill out the required paperwork before being accepted.
“If you have an interest in serving in the future, please contact my office at 225-647-5646 or my email at email@example.com. This is a great way for our young people to learn about government and get paid as well,” says Representative Edmonston.
