Ascension Parish Governmental Complex closed to public

Ascension Parish President Clint Cointment announced that the Ascension Parish Governmental Complex at 615 East Worthey Street in Gonzales is now closed to the public for the duration of the COVID-19 state of emergency.

Cointment had announced previously that the Planning and Development Department and the Building Department, both housed in the governmental complex, would be doing business exclusively online or by telephone.

“We need to protect our employees from infection so they can continue working for the people,” said Cointment. “We are doing as much as we can electronically, and enabling some of our employees to work from home if necessary.”

The public is asked to call the Citizens Service Center at 225-450-1200 when needing services from Parish Government. The call will be registered to ensure follow-up, and routed to the correct department.

To make an appointment with the Louisiana Department of Health representative Vicki Stagg, please call 225-644-9030 or email vicki.stagg@apgov.us.

A representative from Veterans Affairs also is located in the Governmental Complex. Those needing services should make an appointment by calling 225-644-7475, or emailing william.mcinnis@la.gov.  The office hours are:
