Blanchard Braud named Gonzales’ Outstanding Citizen of 2019

Blanchard Braud has been named Gonzales’ Outstanding Citizen of 2019.  The City Council adopted a proclamation at Monday’s early morning meeting (rescheduled from the normal 5:30 pm start time to accommodate a certain football game in the Louisiana Superdome this evening) in recognition of Braud’s years of service to the city.

“Most recently Blanchard has done great work as chair of Gonzlaes’ Civil Service Board,” said Mayor Barney Arcneaux.  “For decades he has contributed countless hours and tremendous effort to make our city the best it can be.  It is a real honor to be able to recognize Blanchard Braud.”

The honorific is new to the city with Barbara Melancon, pictured above to Braud’s left, being named Gonzales’ inaugural Outstanding Citizen for 2018.
