Silverleaf properties nearing buyout, drainage work near new courthouse to close E Worthey this weekend

The process to buy out residents of repetitive flood loss properties on Silverleaf Drive, south of Hwy 30 in Gonzales, is nearing completion according to Gonzales’ City Engineer Jackie Baumann.  Appraisals have been completed, and approved by US Department of Agriculture which is putting up the money with offer packets being prepared for each homeowner.

In other drainage news, the new courthouse planned south of E Worthey Road necessitates drainage repairs on the other side of the street.  W Worthey will be closed this weekend (August 17-18) to make those repairs between East Ascension High School and EATEL’s neighboring complex.

Road improvements are ongoing with asphalting of E Cornerview in the coming days.

Traffic on Hwy 44 at Conway Subdivision will be rerouted to add a third, northbound lane of travel once Atmos lowers to of its gaslines.
