Help Global Water Brigades [LSU] combat water borne illness

Blaire Peterson

Hi! My name is Blaire Peterson, and I am the Vice-President and also a founding member of Global Water Brigades at LSU. Global Water Brigades at Louisiana State University (LSU) is the newest chapter of Global Brigades on LSU’s campus.  I and my fellow founding members are very excited to join such a generous national program dedicated to helping others. We decided to start a chapter of Global Water Brigade at LSU because it is recognized that water borne illnesses are the second leading cause of death among children in developing countries and we would like to play a role in fixing this global crisis. In March of 2020 the members of our club will travel to Honduras to build a working water disinfection system for a community that does not have access to clean water. We are also excited to be involved locally, we will be participating in community wide service programs and philanthropy events throughout the year.

I would like our chapter of Global Water Brigades at LSU to be a representation of the generosity that Louisiana, Baton Rouge and surrounding areas has to offer. Growing up in Ascension Parish has afforded me the opportunity to witness and be a part of my family, friends and community helping people in need at the moments when they needed others the most. I am reaching out to local businesses and/or individuals for help and would greatly appreciate any sponsorships or contributions you could make. Donations go directly to helping members of our club travel to Honduras for the purpose of building the clean water systems.
