LPB’s Nourish Nominated For Prestigious Webby Award

Baton Rouge, LA — April 2, 2019 – Today the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences announced that Louisiana Public Broadcasting’s digital series Nourish • PBS was nominated in the category of best Social Video: Food & Drink for the 23rd Annual Webby Awards. Hailed as the “Internet’s highest honor” by The New York Times, The Webby Awards, presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), is the leading international awards organization honoring excellence on the Internet.

Nourish • PBS is an original digital series and a collaboration between LPB and PBS Digital Studios, funded by a grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB). The series host is rocket scientist and whole hog barbecue pit master, Dr. Howard Conyers.

“Nominees like Nourish • PBS are setting the standard for innovation and creativity on the Internet,” said Claire Graves, Executive Director of The Webby Awards. “It is an incredible achievement to be selected among the best from the 13,000 entries we received this year.”

IADAS, which nominates and selects The Webby Award Winners, is comprised of Internet industry experts including Internet inventor Vint Cerf, Instagram’s Head of Fashion Partnerships Eva Chen, Director of Harvard’s Berkman Center for Internet & Society Susan P. Crawford, actor and activist Jesse Williams, GE CMO Linda Boff, Pod Save the People host and activist DeRay McKesson, Google’s Head of Conversation Design Cathy Pearl, Fortnite Designer Eric Williamson, HBO Digital Chief Diane Tryneski, Los Angeles Laker Isaiah Thomas, and DDB Worldwide CEO Wendy Clark.

Winners will be announced on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, and honored at a star-studded ceremony on Monday, May 13, 2019, at Cipriani on Wall Street in New York City.
