The Ascension Parish Master Gardeners Association under the direction of the LSU AgCenter will continue to hold workshops during its spring library series with gardening and landscaping tips geared to both novice and advanced gardeners. The workshops to be hosted by the Ascension Parish Library are:
Success in the Shade: April 9, 6:30 PM, Gonzales
Patricia Brussack, member of Board of Directors for the Georgia Hosta Society, has gardened on two acres of woodlands for decades. She will share the successes and the failures of this shade gardening endeavor. Plant selections, plant combinations as well as planting practices to increase the delights of the shady spots in the garden will be illustrated. Mrs. Brussack, a Hosta enthusiast, will also suggest Hosta cultivars that perform well even with the short dormancy periods of southern gardens. To register, call the Gonzales location at 647-3955.
Spring Plant Swap and Gardening Tips and Questions: April 23, 6:30 PM, Gonzales
